Influence of perceived stress on obesity in South Korean adolescents using data from the 13th 2017 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey

Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate obesity its perceived stress in Korean adolescents using data from the 13th 2017 Korea youth risk behavior web-based survey, and it was designed to perceived stress to provide basic data for managing obesity.

Methods: The subjects were 30,885 middle school students and 31,391 high school students, there were 62,276 people in total. The Data were analyzed by frequency, ¥ö2 test and multiple logistic regression analysis using SPSS complex samples Win 25 program.

Results: The prevalence of under weight 21.2%, normal weight 52.3%, over weight 12.6%, and obesity weight 13.9%, respectively. According to multiple logistic regression analysis, obesity was associated with gender, school type, economic state, academic performance, physical activity, breakfast time, fast food consumption. Obesity was not significant difference from perceived stress.

Conclusions: It should try to manage stress from low academic and economic levels of high school boys, increase their breakfast intake and physical activity. The influence of stess, fast food consumption, sleep duration on obesity is necessary for further study.
